Wolves

Their time is hard to quantify
But in this course free reign
The being of existence
The wolves found their domain
They came with instinct settled
Eternal harbingers they
Brought the immortal message
To all earthlings which would play

Out across the wilderness
As grounded as was seen
Enduring many negatives
And basically they have been
Almost to every corner
Of this global place of soul
They brought their own nirvana
Which they readily did extol

Such meaning and such wonderment
Mentors in their role
With an ethos of creative thought
Transcending they could dole
Out great swathes of consciousness
To mankind who stood to gain
An intimacy of spirit
Which they did maintain

Their suchness and and their standing
Brought some anger from a few
Who felt perhaps their dominance
Which they did misconstrue
Their light was seen as darkness
They entered a fictional world
Which bore no relation to the actual
In essence they were hurled

Head first into an identity
Never of their own
They had their authenticity
And all their seeds were sown
Wolves are entirely honest
With a greatness to admire
A universal spirit whose passion
And desire
Fires up the works of fiction
And forms shadows in some minds
Their howl it really knows no bounds
And In our exhaustion finds

A place to bring us forward
To imagine to equate
Fear and some disorder
Seemingly worse of late
To introduce a Dawn and a new awakening
It seems
In which some felt torn to utter
And imagine their howls as screams

The wolves are actually closer
To our spirit and because
Alas they tend to threaten
Perhaps it always was
Going to be a battle
For their supernatural stance
Their limitless devotion
Picked up in each glance
They are timeless creatures
Evolving day on day
They truly reign the wilderness
And establish and allay

Fears of generations
Their undying wish to be
Apex predators
A natural servant
And our shadows yes maybe
We have to look beyond our greed
And feel their worth and see
They really are not fighting us
Their wish is just to be
