Just one of the billions of male chicks born in egg laying farms

I came to be
Life was mine
Existence started
I knew the sign
A realness an actuality
Flesh and blood
Intrinsically

A temper a humour
A disposition
My characteristics
Now on a mission
Atavistic involved I be
In what is abject harmony

I have my own identity
And a basic joy
That I can see
The stacks of eggs
Still to be
Hatched and hopefully
To join me

They say I look
Like my mama
She was always
My favourite star
We are the army
So many here
A cacophony of sounds
And cheer

Off we go on great conveyor
Who knows where
Moving quite fast
Chirping in a joyous laughter
Freedom we are clearly cast

Into the great void of being
The beginning of our life
The commencement of our journey
The invention of such strife
A maiden voyage on these steel rollers
Down a chute into a place
Into a termination quarter
Into what is a disgrace

A bitter end and lost enchantment
A terminal of no return
The coup de grace our final curtain
The home stretch where the babies burn
The bitter end the dissolution
They apply our closure and the pain
Great teeth just grind us into nothing
And this is happening again and again

A slurry of what was live joy
Each heart beat heard till they employ
The beastly scientific steel
That renders us into a meal
For cats and dogs or may be you
Who like your pie or chicken stew

Or we could end up in a bag
Out in the yard where some hag
Chucks us thousands of us lie
Able still to see the sky
But only for a short time now
Because more and more which is how
We are crushed and left to die
Male chicks yea we scream out why?

We are perfect we can think
We can see and hear the brink
Why do we die why is that fair
Because there are no prophets out there
Robotic minds and margins high
Banksters all expect to fly
We are fodder for their guns
We are rubbish in their runs

Time waits for no one alas
Male chicks are the new morass
The only synchronicity
Is instant death crushed rapidly
All our newness and innovation
Were no guarantee of our salvation
We were upstarts fledgelings who
Came to die and quickly too

Write offs bankers terms we were
Our destiny was how they err
Our expectation and our desire
Soon became part of their fire
The impending threat was clearly set
We were born and in so much debt
They were unconscious to how we feel
In their own torpor so very real
We were helpless without resource
From birth to death all stayed on course

Our destruction was written down
Liquidation in ourselves we drown
In the blood and guts of each other we
Breathe our last breath and immediacy
The great big vandal in the sky
Your fucking god who speaks his lie
Inside our shell we heard him say
Your life begins dear ones today
