Pigs for sale

We often hear of culture
And tradition
Of how different people view
Their marketing sphere
Take pigs for example
Sold in Indonesia
In market places
Where its very clear

Compassion it went our the window
Years ago
It probably never ever showed its face
Full sized sows trussed with ropes
And tied onto a plank
Still alive and no doubt wondering
Why humans are so rank

Prostrate and uncomfortable
Their breathing restricted too
The hideousness of this method
And clumsiness all through
It really is repellant to
See animals left this way
Waiting for the sellers
To just take them away

The tedium of this
It must nauseate and bore
Its an ordeal to deal with
Adversity for sure
For humans just to do this
Is really an abuse
Its relentlessness
An unpitying
And really just a ruse

Its wrong to do this to them
Its an impropriety
It is very unseemly
And so discriminatory
I imagine how the pigs must feel
Resentful of the way
They are tied so tightly
In what is the cultured way
