Tembo and Sunda and the Topeka Zoo

Zoo’s have got to realise
Their true responsibility
Importing the wild animals
And keeping them in captivity

You have to be minded
Of the animals basic need
When exchanging contracts
For both to then succeed

Keeping really thoughtfully
And provide some real good care
Don’t bring them to where your zoo is
Just to face,more despair

No exercise
No bathing
No forest where they can go
No fresh vegetation
No foraging
Their flow

Completely lost forever
The temperature not the same
No company of others
Life is not a game
Its their lives that we gamble with
So zoo’s can make some dough
The margin and the profit
Its Based on them you know

Not lose the light of living
Not walking miles per day
Not standing still in one fixed place
That is where they pay
With aching feet and emotion
And psychological woe
They are heavy animals
Not statues left on show

If you cannot care for them
Do not make them sick
Train your men to love them
They cannot be that thick
Show them how to feel for the elephants
How to bathe and care
And let them walk about a bit
For goodness sake be fair

And walking doesn’t include rides
Fat arse tourists no
Let them forage for some leaves
Let them try to grow
Emotionally much stronger
And transfer them and be
The first to say that you agree
To a brand new sanctuary

A barren yard with painful feet
Is neglect if you ask me
You are torturing these animals
Thats not the way to be
Look at them swaying back and forth
They are depressed and sad and they
Use this repetitive behaviour
So you know its not the way

They are actually telling you
What you do is wrong
Truthfully your are torturing them
They clearly don’t belong
Stressed out by that standing
And Kansas is far too cold
So then you do not allow them out
On elephants you are sold

But you cannot look after them
Its arrogance with you
Inactivity is causing them
Stress and strain its true
Their feet are Bloody killing them
The news is very bad
Let them go to a sanctuary
Before they both go mad
