Surin roundup

Tourism in Thailand
Behind the mantle, they
Torture Baby elephants
Make those infants pay
Their spirit it is broken
Use of the mean “phajaan”
A tight, cage like structure
The “KUYS” indigenous fun

Torture of the lowest kind
Baby elephants, who
Are taken from wild mothers
Its intolerable what they do
In the name of tourism
Where tourists pay to see
And what goes on behind their backs
Is only infamy

Its the ugly face that hides behind
The money making schemes
Roped in this small structure
It becomes the worst of dreams
Those animals how they suffer
Pulling their legs like mad
Stabbing them stabbing their ears
And beating them, its
So sad

So very sad to see this
They do not understand
They haven’t done anything to deserve
This torture that was planned
To really break their spirit
To cut them down to size
Its pathetic and its pitiable
Why don’t we realise

The terror that these babies feel
As many men there do
The torture stabbing tender ears
Turning their heads blue
With bruising and with bleeding
The soreness must be bad
Here them trumpeting such lamentation
Wailing for their dad

Its irksome and its tedious
Disgusting all who see
Its nauseating behaviour
Its not how it should be
These are tiny babies innocent
We can see
We can feel their total innocence
Its just rotten that we

Stand up and give our tourist money
And so prolong their pain
Its repulsive what we do to them
Its graceless the refrain
Of elephants screaming skywards
Rocking the ground so hard
Pounding their little roped up feet
That become cut up and scarred

A sadistic bunch of cretins
Mahouts they often say
They look after their elephants
Its an extraordinary way
Of looking after babies
It torture and its pain
Its agony and hopelessness
And pure cowardice once again

A parade of all these tortured souls
In Surin every year
Its called a cultural festival
And they are dragged in on
Fear
Through the streets to suffer
The vagaries of sin
Punching butting as they are strutting
With wounds and all that din

Thailand really is a cruel and nasty place to be
What they do to their animals
Is woeful actually
Its evil dark and ugly
In really the worst of ways
Pulling their tails and hammering their heads
Just trying to raise

Their emotion and their spirit
To break them make them throw
Theirselves into the human ways
And the tourists do not know
They pay their various currencies
And support the violence they
Torture strain and carry on doing it
Every bloody day

Lead into the stadium
They can hardly walk
Suffering like crazy
As all the people talk
Dressed up in regalia
On their painful feet
Their wounds are covered
From the public eye
And they look beat

Anyone with any sense
And heart must feel
These elephants crying every step
This agony is real
How can this be cultural
Its low life low routine
Its egregious torture
Its actually obscene
