Dogs life

A dogs life is a period of wonderment for some
For others it is hell on earth
Under the humans thumb
Beaten
Eaten
Made to be
Lost the cost so high
But able to be taken
In by some rich soul
Girl or guy

To sleep upon their kingsize
Nestle in their duvet
Sorry about the goose down
Who also sadly pay
A dogs life where the human chooses
All the food we eat
Made by other humans
Who really clearly cheat

Not more than four per cent
Of chicken
As it says on the tin
The rest it truly mucks us up
It so gets under our skin

But laying around the house all day
And going out for walks
Being pulled as we cock our legs
Or as our human talks
Its not a bad life really
Tit bits here and there
Being closest To the fire
And the big house that I share

He is some film director
Bossing folk about
But here his wife will always
Really start to shout
I always get my way with her
She is under my thumb
Or paw
And so a dogs life well for me
Is really what life’s for

Inspired by a man from Roma who I met in London
Yesterday
A most charming man he was too
