Fruits of the forest

Mushrooms have some value
As medicines for they
Are wild and in their wildness
Nutritionally they say
The forest does hold secrets
Old plum trees shield them, they
The reishi has longevity
And they can save the day

The ancients knew this wisdom
The tonifying soul
Protein and carbohydrates
Exactly in control
Such special fruiting bodies
Are anti tumour they
Powdered dried and with ginger
Perfectly display

Make them into tea
40 minutes to an hour
Boiling them and on drinking them
Their broth can have great power
To strengthen and to tonify
This is an illusive soul
Rarer than you would imagine
And powerfully in control

the reishi is a special one
Expensive but it does
Do wonders with some cancers
And gives some quite a buzz
The shiitake grows on oak
trees
With its kind of ragged gills
Covered in a white flocking
Better than the pills
Good for the immune systems
And bronchial problems too
1 or 2 boiled up a while
Will be really good for you

The forest’s ancient wisdom
Can be scattered everywhere
It quietly lifts its tiny head
Through the litter it will share
The deeper moisture miracles
The ancient humus rich
Within the deeper layers
That is where to pitch

Ones Thought about tomorrow
For in the dew fed dark
Unsaturated fatty acids are
Inclined to park
Their messages are rampant
Their synergism too
Within the softening
Leaf mold strains
The magic can hold true
