Animals and tourism

Clearly they are apparently not as willing
To drop the elephant stuff as quick as some
Clearly there is money with this business
And tourists themselves many still are numb
To how much cruelty there is in the industry
Perhaps we have to emphasise this too
Get the people’s total realisation
That Elephants can’t be subjected as we do

To the cruelty and training that is thrown at them
Separating the children from their mothers
And giving them heavy training so as to
Break their spirit damage them forever
Which is what they really have to do
Elephants don’t see their role as vehicles
They were never mean’t to walk on tarmac roads
Elephants feet are not made for so doing
They carry their own weight and that is loads

As human beings we must see ahead of what is happening
Where there is cruelty we ourselves must know
And not subscribe to this profiteering at the animals expense
They really shouldn’t be part of the show
They are wild the biggest of land animals
Give them due respect for who they are
Not bull hook them into participation
Its wrong on all counts for what we do is scar

Them make them feel so wretched in the moment
Disturb their family life and general health
Elephants are not made to be our slaves not any more
As un paid workers adding to our wealth
Wild is wild and they should be respected
Not worked to death and tortured constantly
Thomas Cook can I appeal to you on behalf of the wild ones
Look inside your heart and it will be

Obvious what it is we are doing
Degrading ourselves for the money trail
Elephants are primarily wild animals
And taking them for a ride is where we fail
They are we know amazingly good natured
They take our discipline but not easily
Man is far from kind at making money
And as we evolve we really ought to see

I am sure in my own mind. Thomas Cook and any other operator
Will see this point of view and ensure the wildness and naturalness of elephants is maintained.thats my hope anyway
