The trolley man at Sainsburys Apsley

For no apparent reason
A smile is all you see
He is not an entrepreneur
But a trolley man he be
Working out of Sainsbury’s
Hunting for them, he
Knows all the hiding places
And just where they can be

A measly sum they pay him
For the service that he gives
He lives alone in Hemel
Yes that is where he lives
Everybody knows him
Anonymous he be
A really important logistic job
You can take that from me

So get one of the managers
Out of their cosy space
Get their coat off
Roll their sleeves up
Let them go and chase
The trolleys for an afternoon
See how they will do
And when they have finished that job
Go and clean the loo

And realise the trolley man
Is worthy of a rise
But nobody will give him one
And that’s about the size
Of it, although he is smiling
Happy just to be
Anonymous the trolley man
Who works at J. Sainsbury
