The price of Beef

Sheer cowardice
Craven spirited
They bust the Bulls
Fine legs
Tie it to a post
Each horn pulled
By perhaps the dregs

These so called men
These unsoldierly
Dastardly quitters who
Find employment killing
And they do it all for
YOU

You want Beef in your burgers
You want Beef on your plate
You want it in your sausages
You think that it tastes great
You forget it was a proud soul
Who loved life very much
A gentle soul
That was its role
It was you who was out if touch

That Beef stew kept you warm of course
And so it had to die
Someone had to kill the best
To stab it in its eye

Death is death my turtle doves
And this death that you see
raises your hackles of course it does
It does the same to me

But I chose to be a vegan
I chose to love the soul
Not turn my back on its torture
And employ him in the role

Of butcher murderer shit face
And watch him sink and fall
Watch his fearful terror
As he lets out that great call

In what is utter agony
As his neck is sliced away
The evil that is in all of us
Who let the creatures pay

Think of their desperation
Their hopelessness their woe
In complete trepidation
Defeated as we know

We leave a million comments
It sickens us to the core
We can’t believe we caused this
All this blood and gore

Just because we wanted
Our burger full of Beef
Our saliva rich with bloodiness
We never thought of grief

In it own precious blood it slides
This is what we do
The unpropitious inauspicious
Panic stricken brew

It’s formidable it’s ominous
It makes my blood run cold
I shiver at the sight of this
And in my heart I hold

The memory of that panting beast
Crying to the sky
The hatred and the loathing
Of course I ask you why

The malicious the malignant
The nauseous the stink
The revulsion of the feeling
We are on the brink

Humanity is cowering
In the ravaged shit of time
The malice and disfavour
And the Bull still tries to climb

Out of each rich puddle
It’s nostrils still ablaze
Of course we must denounce this
This malediction phase

Because we want to feed ourselves
Because we need to chew
On living meat on muscle
On the goodness of tissue

We all are near to peril
To the abyss darkened with gore
We watch and sickened by it all
We should now share the floor

Swim in that poor Bulls entrails
Taste it’s salty tears
Let’s rankle and bear malice
Let’s experience it’s fears

Those of you who are disgusted
But turn away and say
I love my Beef then beyond belief
You have ruined my day

Each time you buy the pristine trays
Of meat from out of the store
Remember this sweet animal
And don’t buy anymore

And if you choose to forget him
Then realise that you
Are building up such karma
And every word is true
