Too many bleeding hearts

My heart bleeds for these Eli boys
The months of evil, the pain the noise
Clearly they were subjected to
The order of each day
The subservience an obedience
The bull hook what is worse
Brutal injured and nobody
Ever around to nurse
Submitting to their surrender
To the yoke they clearly bow
They kiss the rod
From you you sod
And pay homage to it now

This is a wild animal
A proud and lovely beast
Respected in its kingdom
Submissive at its feast
A war horse with such massive strength
Able to resist
Able to crush opponents
And able to enlist

So much real persuasion
But chose to remain calm
Unaggressive unresisting
Not wanting to harm
Offering an olive branch
Hopeful to reconcile
Rather the dove that flies above
Than the tiger with its guile

Preferring to be humble
The relinquishment of power
Surrendering resigned to it
Assenting on the hour
Submitting to the vagaries
Of small brains and big sticks
To acquiesce to show no fight
And get on with their tricks

To kowtow crawl and dance a trot
Kneel down bob and bow
Put up with their nonsense
Just throw in the towel
We’re battle scarred and weary
We have to do their thing
Just be so submissive
So they are seen as king

People come to watch us
Do the human dance
Who is in ascendancy
What they see of chance
Conqueror or vanquisher
What does it matter, we
Do whatever they want us too
And the rest of our time
We are free

Yes you think we are stupid
They made us what we are
We knuckled down and did it
Our hearts and souls they scar
We have our long long memories
We know what they have done
And one day we will retaliate
We will snap one day our fun

Will be short lived
They will shoot us down
But not before we crush
We tear apart we break the heart
We turn their brains to mush
But till that day comes
We do our dance
Our adversity is just a chance
Our suffering picked up by some
The audience are awfully numb
They cannot feel
They do not see
Our wretchedness and misery

We know the AR warriors who
Are out there doing what they do
Who commiserate and give us hope
With mediocrity we cope
We prosper doing what we do
Our charmed lives are because of you
We are all actors on their stage
And when we burst into our rage
That is when we are hard to gauge
When we just walk off the page

When payback time comes
We know we
Will be killed
That hoping must be
Human beings are most unkind
And those who come
Really are blind
Senseless to the feral way
Our resistance is
Our mainstay
We dance we bow we do their thing
And one day we die being the king
