Samhain

If it hadn’t been for mother
I wouldn’t be here today
And as the veil gets thinner
I want in fact to pay

My respects to my dear mother
Calling on her to see
If she is now in less pain
Than when she passed on actually

And to offer ancestors who
Have, gone before me
Perhaps they light a candle
For I expect to see

Them soon
my time is coming when
My eyes close’ and I
Leave this place forever and
To Walk away and die

To be Someone else’s ancestor
I have no children so
Maybe on the other side
I will for those I know

Might think of me at Samhain
And call me to their door
So I can see them one more time
And feel their love for sure
