The Killer Whales and captivity

The arrogance that Sea World

regurgitates abroad

capturing the mighty killer Whales

and their reward

is cruelty

a lack of understanding

a villainy in respect

and where does it all lead to

let me interject

out of a perfect mirrorscape

a six foot fin can rise

lost in a fog of ignorance

it may herald its demise

such a dominant species

a bit like us except

with a matriarchal society

their life much more adept

to their heritage

their ancient origins

and their sensitivity

each pod jam packed

with family

thats how

it has to be

they have evolved

to perfect

with a sense of feeling, we

can probably only dream about

and a language too

the sea

offers  up perfectionm

with sonar that may reach

10 miles and 3 dimensional

with an ability to teach

to mentor pups for life times

their complex worlds we share

how sad the sea zoo’s ruin them

because they do not care

they tell us how they love them

and they put them in a tank

tiny by comparison

and often really rank

no life at all and fed alas

on fish which all is dead

they lose their communication

and most go off their head

they feed them  with anti depressants

imagining  that will do

wild ones they are wild ones

and cant live in some zoo

to entertain the public

with trainers now so called

more ignorance more arrogance

but who is being fooled

only the paying public

the circus is in town

they come to buy their chinese toy

and watch the orcas drown

in their own tears

in their own sadness

in their own boredom, we

are so unkind we are so unfair

to the creatures of the sea

but they make a lot of money

and they sell a lot of gear

and they tell the world they educate

the children but its clear

they indoctrinate they imagine

that we know what’s going on

but all we do in essence

is be party to their con

they torture them we are  unaware

of their specific need

they become their slaves

forever

internally they bleed

they die a little bit every day

thats exactly what they do

we are ignorant as the day is long

a viewpoint that’s not new

put them into sea pens

let them acclimatize

get them back into the ocean

let it be a prize

to them to be repatriated

for stuck inside our zoos

is the cruelest thing imaginable

its just the foulest news
