The Gulf oil spill is not over by a long chalk

Its not news anymore

now is it

The BP oil spill is no more

they cleaned it up and buggered off

they fought off the anger

using the law

threatened the victims and left them dying

the pieces of their lives were torn to shreds

the pay out ,was just a payout

but what was in their hearts and heads

was a vacuum of the deepest order

their lives were ruined at a stroke

the oil was spread throughout the ocean

inside their fabric it did soak

every part of their whole being

every where they looked they saw

oil it creeping every which way

under over through the shore

BP was gone their henchmen gone too

the indigenous tribes and the inuit souls

left to try and pick up the pieces

ghostly figures clearly poles

apart from what was a reality

BP oil was everywhere

11 men had been shot to heaven

and they were left with the despair

of  knowing there was now no future

the grand bayou was lost and sick

ailing everybody suffering

the marsh lands, the arithmetic

done the searching and the worry

everyone was sick inside

as oil crept ever nearer to them

what was left but suicide

BP they have gone and scarpered

left their shit and run away

gone to other sites to damage

left behind the sick decay

and people heads in hands

remembering

before the spill their lives

were good

now there is no life to speak of

a people so misunderstood

a people ruined by a corporate

a villainous monster that  spewed its wrath

that tore the sky

and ripped the heart out

of every person

on their downward path

their ways were simple

they hurt no one

lived off the land

as best they could

then came disaster

the world sat upright

the gulf was under siege

it should

have been relieved from all this

evil but sadly

most have walked away

and left a people dead and dying

they alone now have to pay

Obama and his varied people

washed their hands

they are off the hook

BP ‘s making massive profits

elsewhere

not a second look

the people of the bayou’s

sadly

hang their heads in dark dismay

knowing the oil is coming closer

and will smother them  all soon

anyway
