Autism and chickens

A local council stipulated
there was not to be
chickens kept in homes
not residentially
one family had an autistic son
who derived a lot of fun
from having chickens in the yard
and sitting in the sun

with them and cuddling them a lot
it made him just feel whole
he began to perk up and be seen
they kind of saved his soul
he clearly loved their where for all
and they were attracted too
something about the little boy
made the encounters true

the local council finding out
that the family seemingly
had broken the law on chicken keeping
told them they had to see
the chickens off their premises
for that had to be the rule
but the father said his autistic son
loved them that was all

not only loved them but they aided
him and made him whole
he was fascinated by them
and them by him their role
and both saw real improvement
the chicken were the key
element in all of this
his healing seemingly

as the father made it clear
the local council considered it
and agreed they could stay here
the little boy was getting some therapeutic aid
watching the chickens in his coop
and eating the eggs they laid

and so it was decided the chickens they could stay
the autistic boy and the chickens
were happy right away
