The children are always the victims

The most pitiful scene
perhaps there has ever been
a starving child there on the ground
too weak to sit
so clearly unfit
and a vulture there too
pound for pound

the vulture is probably heavier
the child just a small bag of bones
tears they just fall
for this scene does appal
and nobody there to throw stones

at the vulture
one sees in one’s mind eye
another group far far away
children are throwing food
at each other
its what they do how they play

the world really is topsy turvy
some have no food
some too much
its sickening really how all this
plays out
and
why many are out of touch

with reality in all its sadness
that poor little soul
may soon be
food for the vulture
for that is the culture
in Africa as we can see

in America now
some are homeless
but some have so much
they waste tons
fatter than ever
starvation never
but clearly really
out of touch

they are fat diabetic
and all this is true
sugar and dairy
it does accrue
they’ve taken the rap
with it in their lap
and now don’t know what
to do

they’ve cut and run recently
but my god they
have filled up their
pockets and made us all pay
in one country we see starvation and more
in another the corporates waging a war

on our children so bloated
so very unwell
some are eaten by vultures
some just sent to Hell
the sugar the dairy
the fat the GM
the corporate monsters
from them it did stem
