Koala (Dharug gula) shared with animals australia

Do you know what its like
to be an industry casualty?
Do you know what its like
to be pulled out of a tree
Do you know what its like
to crash down into the litter
Do you know what its like to be me

Yea I’m a koala an iconic soul
born in Australia that was my role
Victoria land of the lovely sunshine
denuded and gasping
no one sees the sign
koala it says on the sign by the road
along come the loggers
their highway code

is strip out our homes
tear down our trees
American Blue Gum not now
it would please
all of us here
that you realise, we
were born in Australia
and we can see

our brothers and sisters
dying each day
as you come here
and bulldoze our homes
clean away
blue gum is giving us
anguish and fear
we sleep 20 hours
and it now does appear
the worst of our nightmares
are anguish about
the facts you don’t care
you don’t care about

Koala’s
and we’re born here
we were born and bred
and most of us tragically
are ending up dead
the industry denies
the killing goes on
but some whistle blowers
know we are upon
their trees and are dying
open your eyes
for that Japanese paper
they take out the wise

for wood chip we perish
how can that be fair
an Industry casualty
arn’t you aware
I broke my leg
and was torn up inside
when I heard an American
try to confide
in another he said
all these furry critters
are dying I tell you
it gives me the jitters
why nobody cares
Why Australians say
economics is better
than them any day

Do you care what I care about
where can I go
my family is dying
how can we grow
we are supposed to be cared for
but there is no care
we are thrown in the deep end
no one’s aware
we are dying
we are crying
we are sighing and we
need the help of the
American blue gum Industry
its not all about
the profit you make
be a prophet for goodness sake
our hearts now break
as one after another
a sister does die
an industry casualty
Australia why?
