Another dead Lion who killed the wrong goat

Imagine the frustration
and the difficulty Lions find
once kings of the jungle
but now out of their mind
game reduced to almost nothing
and with hunters on the prowl
trappers really everywhere
and very little fowl
the indigenous have their animals
tethered in fenced space
its getting hard to make a buck
there for god and grace
go many a wild soul foraging
hopeful of a meal
but genuinely worried
and truthfully its real
hard out there a goat might be an option
but then they
the indigenous my come after you
and with weight of numbers pay
spears hurt then the ears are torn
and the skin is pulled away
the jaw dismantled leaving
the true victim to pay

a lion lays bleeding slaughtered
she had no place to roam
humans have stolen her habitat
the bush where she did comb
earlier days for something
but those places are all but gone
and now its getting brutal out there
for when natives come upon
a solitary Lioness there is not much she can do
but stand her ground and hope
that they will just let her pass through

here’s one who took that gamble
and felt the wrath of man
they left her in a sorry state
probably that their plan
but another Lion down sadly
another lost for sure
Wild Africa is bleeding
which so many still ignore

the trophy boys have sold their farms
and a making their cool dough
selling off the hunting rights
so lucrative you know
people have few scruples
the money is the thing
and trophy lions will feel the pinch
the end of the earthling

the wild souls cannot hack it
up against the man
either spears
or rifles
either way a plan
is clearly in the offing
for wild one’s to be killed
each has a bounty on their heads
which is why their blood is spilled
