Tar Sands and the arrogance of Exxon

Big Oil has this amazingly
thick skin and tries to be
so far above the people
that it represents to see
it puts itself into a sort
of God Like form and runs
itself this corporate, firing
all its flipping guns
it should be sued
and sued for lots
its spills are such vile spills
they terrify the people
and giving them the chills
Yes we know they’re giants
and that corporates don’t care
they ride roughshod over everyone
spitting their despair
out for us
to shake a bit
and shiver at their power
but the Tar Sands are a menace
and the wild souls in the now
are suffering immeasurably
contaminations rife
Yes all this nasty crude oil
it does away with life
sea birds fish and others
they have the right to be
where they were created
and where we need to see
them in the local habitat
not greased up looking poor
covered in the filthy crude
and lying on the shore
