House Bill 3452 Oregon Lawmakers decision on WOLVES

Wolves can sigh a little more
they have some rights at least
the black clouds had been forming
around this precious beast
a lot of real wolf haters
had lobbied and had tried
to give the wolf an aura
many yes had lied
but Grey Wolves do need freedom
apex predators they
are an integral part of
the wilderness
and must be allowed to stay
not slaughtered out of existence
by the ranchers and their breed
who want a quiet life
and a way to ensure they just
succeed
but they have been reminded
that the wolf too
has a place
it was there before the
rancher
came to harry and displace
and Oregon lawmakers
apparently it appears
have taken all of this on board
including the inflated fears
Wolves can still be slaughtered
by the ranchers if they are caught
in the act of wounding or biting
but sport
hunting them and killing them
for no reason at all
is not deemed as a pastime
they have answered the call
of the wild and of the activists
whose voices loud and clear
they were heartfelt and close to the earth
and its good that they did hear
not the rustle of the dollar bills
but the wetness of our eyes
and have hopefully produced a bill
which is circumspect but wise
