My latest girl friend Miss Pain

Blue smoke
as blue as the paint
on her door
a fag in her hand
and she’s
against war
she coughs like an engine
and swears real bad
and you would not cross her
for she gets so mad

she’s a wild one this one,
I must say
as wild as the storm
that blows through the bay
most feel safer
to just be there
if you cross this babe
you best beware

her tongue is as sharp
as a Cobra’s eye
one look from her
and most beg to die
she’s wild but you know
she fascinates me
like a stallion she lifts her
sweet head, wildly

any challenge that comes
her way she’ll meet
she gets better
and stands the heat
though sometimes
she has a gentler side
when her great big eyes,
she opens wide
and she smiles a smile that would
melt your heart
thats when my feelings
for her did start

they welled up in me
not much I could do
but under her charms
all of them new
with a kick like a mule and the flick
of her hair
she stood there naked,
she didn’t care

a beautiful creature
a wonderful soul
but say the wrong thing
and she’s out of control
she will tear your heart out
and leave you lost
cut to the marrow
which is going to cost

months of emotional stress
for some
in life’s sad maelstrom some feel numb
for me I love her very much
wild or not I stay in touch
emotionally really on the same plain
and night after night
I go back again.
