Aida

Aida doesn’t get much
of a helping hand
nothing about her in the lifts
which I fail to understand
no promotion on the tables
or in the Siroccho bar
nothing in the foyer
when this women is a star
she belts her heart out
every night
her passion it shines through
sometimes a small audience
sometimes to one or two
but does that curtail her emotion
not a bit of it
She’s out there in the spotlight
and she has to pit
herself against the football
the huge great Astro screen
but she does it happily
and to me the hotel’s mean
they do not see that someone
who gives her all to try
and encourage people to the bar
needs support, which is now why
I do my best with words in rhyme
to support this lovely soul
its one thing to get paid you know
its another to fill the role
And Aida does it wonderfully
she brings tears to my eyes
She’s always turned out beautifully
which some fail to realise
to the Management of Holiday Inn
this message is for you
you have somebody special here
and therefore you must do
something more to help her
give her a helping hand
she gives you, her heart and soul
is it so hard to understand
a promotion in the lift at least
and in the foyer too
perhaps a complimentary drink
there, that is my view
