Ethics and Greenwash

The Ethical approach is on the table
The Public are aware and trying hard
The Supermarket moguls have come round to it
Everybody sees the land they’ve scarred
The lack of wild birds and the many allergies
The fracturing of foods, its all out there
50 years of arrogance and now its payback time
And bewilderment it just seems everywhere

Take waste, small business waste where is it going?
Into those dark chasms in the earth
We created Landfill sites and need to now share their delights
Of filling them with waste for all we’re worth
Pollution to water tables, evil slurry
Why re-cycle when its simple to
Truck it into Landfill sites
Where the rat and seagull blights
Call it waste, be wasteful please will you

The Government says more funding, isn’t possible
But invades Iraq, with an army that does cost
A fortune, but what of our sweet resources
Bury it in the earth so it is lost
Will it enhance the soil and make good compost?
A thousands years and it will stay the same
A rubbish tip where once organic trees grew
Our generation sadly were to blame

Destruction was of paramount importance
Landfill tax had really hit the sky
Society the I just can’t be bothered
Were far too busy watching people die
To worry about their impact on the other
Coming generations, who were they?
Their children and their childrens children possibly
But none of them were worried anyway

A sickness, a malaise of sorts was clearly
Manipulation in the way they fed
For by the time the problem manifests itself
All the perpetrators would be dead
Or Dummed down with their flat screens, and their gadgetry
Robotized, a new race to be sure
Living in the Landfill, wormlike creatures
Shot away and dining on the gore
