Madagascan Vanilla is suffering

We definately devalue
Crops from far away
Madagascan Vanilla
Sadly has had its day
a high price as its forests
were logged and cleared away
For artifical flavours
are cheaper by the day
Once it did so prosper
What Mother Nature taught
To so appreciate her skill
And consider, her thought
So many appeared ignorant
Short term profit sat
Firmly on the table
Knowing where they were at
Our taste buds were exploited
The Corporates they knew
The artificial chemicals
Could fool the lot of you
Madagascars green gold is tragically
no more
Now the chemists in their darkest labs
have won the war
The freshest of the orchids
in what jungle now is left
producing virgin fragrance
But they truly stand bereft
of any sense or quality
Even Cola’s lost
the added secret flavour
which will be, to its cost.
